alexandrite laser
An Alexandrite Laser is a kind of LASER (lights amplification by excited emission of Radiation), which emits short high intensity light via an alexandrite crystals. These crystals can be found all around us: in our hair, on rocks, and other things. As the light passed through the alexandrite crystals, a rainbow of colors is produced: from red to green to blue. This effect is achieved because the crystals excite the electrons within the metal by emitting light photons that excite the atomic nucleus of the atoms thus emitting energy in the form of visible light.
Alexandrite lasers are used for a variety of uses, such as for creating color in paintings or for enhancing a special physical trait. The alexandrite laser used for this effect has been invented by Dr. Ole Gabrielsen and his research team at the University of Leipzig in Germany. They succeeded in implanting a synthetic device into a human eye; this enabled them to control the strength of this pulse with the pulses being timed to coincide with the person’s vision.
This was a major breakthrough not only for the scientists but for the dentists as well: they were able to apply this method to the removal of pigment granules present in the teeth. Previously, hz pulsed lasers were not applicable for this procedure because of the temperature rise that was necessary. In addition, hz lasers required extensive training before they could even perform the removal of pigment granules. However, with the alexandrite laser, the removal of pigment granules is possible with less heat and without having to use high temperatures.
In recent years, we have seen other applications for these lasers apart from treating visible diseases. Different kinds of alexandrite lasers are now used for the treatment of other disorders like depression, photosensitivity, vitiligo, skin diseases etc. The results achieved are also quite promising and the patients are able to undergo the treatment with confidence. Another exciting application of these lasers is to remove hair permanently; they have already shown positive results in this regard.
This high energy light penetrates the top layer of the skin and removes the hair. The alexandrite laser can also be used to treat sunburns and similar skin-related ailments. In fact, the alexandrite laser is so powerful that it can also cure the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) virus. This high energy light penetrates deep within the skin to eliminate all the obstructions in the melanin (dark pigments) structure and this process leaves no place for the growth of new melanocytes.
Another major advantage of using these lasers is that they are suitable even for people who have red and blonde hair as these lasers are able to treat all skin types. These are powerful devices that emit a high level of light at very high frequencies. They can penetrate through thick plates of lead and are suitable for laser hair removal. The alexandrite laser is also a lot more cost-effective when compared to other methods of hair removal like shaving cream, waxing etc. Another major advantage of these lasers is that they produce no smoke or mess. A regular cleaning of the beam area is required and frequent replacement of batteries of these lasers can prolong their life.
